Songs for the First Grade Music Performance

Hello!  As you know, your children have been preparing for their upcoming 1st Grade Concert.  In the letter that was sent home, I stated that I would be posting the words to the music here on my blog.  Now that I have had the chance to see all of my classes, all of the students have been exposed to the music.  You can work with your child and they should be able to sing through the music with you.  Here are the songs and lyrics!

Hello Song
Hello!  Hello! And, how are you today?
Hello!  Hello! I’m glad you came our way!
Hello!  Hello! I hope you’re here to stay!
It’s friends like you that make my day!  HELLO!

America
My country ‘tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the Pilgrims’ pride,
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring!

Grand Old Flag
You’re a grand old flag, you’re a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you way.
You’re the emblem of the land I love
The home of the free and the brave.
Every heart beats true with the red, white, and blue.
Where there’s never a boast or brag.
But should auld acquaintance be forgot
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Kaeru No Uta
(spelled phonetically)
Ka eh roo no ooo tay ga
Kee ko eh to koo roo yo
Gwat Gwat Gwat Gwat
Gero gero gero gero gwat gwat gwat

Girogirotondo
(spelled phonetically)
Giro giro tondo
Quanto a bel la eel mondo
Guarda la terra too tee ju pear terra

Round and round the circle
See how wonderful the world is
Look at the ground

Let’s all fall down

Grun Grun Grun
(spelled phonetically)
Grun grun grun
Sint alla myna clyder
Grun Grun Grun
Eest alles waaas ick haab
Dar-oom leeb ick
All les vas grun ist
Veil mine shots ein yager ist

Waltzing Matilda
Verse 1
Once a jolly swagman
Camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a Koolabaugh tree
And he sang as he watched
And waited ‘til his billy boiled
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me

Chorus
Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me
And he sang as he watched
And waited ‘til his billy boiled
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me

Verse 2
Down came a jumbuck
To drink at the billabong
Up jumped the swagman
And grabbed it with glee
And he sang as he shoved that
Jumbuck in his tucker bag
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me

Chorus
Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me.
And he sang as he shoved that
Jumbuck in his tucker bag
You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me

You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me

If You’re Happy and You Know It
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your face will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands

Goodbye! Goodbye! Our time's come to an end.
Goodbye! Goodbye! For just a while and then.
Another day we'll meet again!  GOODBYE!!!!
