Again, AP scores will ONLY be available online so we are encouraging you to sign up for a College Board account today. If you have questions, see Mrs. Case or Mrs. Pariano.

The Blue Streak softball team ended their season last night with a defeat by the Perry Panthers at the district semi-final game in Massillon.  The Streaks finished the season with a 17-8 record, surpassing the expectations of many, and playing in a way that made their coaches and community proud.  Members of the team are SENIORS Macy Cook, Morgan Hadinger, and Rachel Williams.  JUNIORS Lauren Aten, Darian Huffaker, Maria Mokler, and Taylor Perko.  SOPHOMORES Abby Butler, Maddie Lakins, Abby Mace, Mackenzie Mauller, Emma McNamara, Jaelyn Meade, and Jordan Meade.

The Lake Lacrosse team won their first home playoff game yesterday, outlasting Canfield 13-5 at Alumni Stadium. Leading the charge for the Blue Streaks was sophomore attack men Alec Kungel who scored 5 goals and netted 2 assists followed by senior midfielder Bobby Mitchell who added 3 goals and 1 assist. Defensively, Lake overwhelmed the visiting Cardinals with great play by senior defenseman John Knavish who recorded 6 Groundballs and an assist as well as strong performances from junior Josh Sampson and senior Grant Miller. The Blue Steaks, who are now 9-5 on the season, are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Chardon to take on the 9th ranked Hilltoppers for an opportunity to advance to the state quarterfinals. Good luck Lake Lacrosse as they continue their postseason run!

Attention All Students: If you did not attend the Academic Booster Recognition, you need to pick up your certificate/pin/letter in the guidance office by May 28th.  If they are not picked up by May 28th, the letters and pins will be returned to the Academic Booster Committee.  It's an honor to receive this award and you worked very hard for it, please take the initiative to pick it up.  THANKS!!! 

Seniors: Have you completed your request for your Final Transcript?????  If not, log onto your e-Classroom account and complete the request.  WARNING! The Boys Track and Field team competed in the Federal League Championship track meet Friday night placing 4th overall. That solidified the boy's team for a second place finish tie with Mckinley in the league standings for the season. Earning all Federal League first team first place was Jacob Kernell in the mile and two mile races. Also earning all-league honors were Jacob Myers, Dakota Noble, Joe Zwick, and Conner Delahanty. Also scoring points in the league meet for the Blue Streaks Were Connor Rinehart, Brennon Pinion, Brandon Hadinger, Spencer Wirick, Josh Edwards, Corey Konigsberger, and Austin Coldsnow. Good luck to the track teams this week at districts Wednesday and Friday!

Those who cannot attend are expected to go to the makeup meeting Tuesday morning in Mrs. Landis' classroom at 6:45. Also, please sign up for the Remind 101 notifications. Details are posted in the junior English classrooms. One again, the meeting is next Monday after school in the middle school.

Attention all varsity and JV boys AND girls tennis players.  The 2nd annual mixed doubles classic will be held on Monday, May 18th at 3:00 here at the Lake tennis courts.  You will be given a partner the day of the event, but please RSVP to coach Westfall in room 501 to let him know if you are able to attend. Attention all boys tennis players.  Team uniform turn-in will be on Monday, May 18th right after school in Coach Westfall's room.

THE BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK AND Field teams competed in the Federal League Championship Meet Friday night held at Perry. The girls scores will be announced today, listen for the boy's scores tomorrow. The girl's team had a number of outstanding efforts placing the girl's team in third place for the meet. Earning all Federal Team Honors was first place finisher Miranda West in the discus. Earning second place all league honors were Ashley Onabiyi, Brandie Snow, and Alex Dutton in two events. Earning third place finishes and honorable mention all league were Abbey Zaluski, Amber Ash, Brandie Snow, Alexis Meffert, Jess Hart, Landy Carneal, and Hannah Schulz. Good luck to the girls track team competing in the district meet this Wednesday and Friday. Race' em & Rock' em!

Attention readers: remember the good old' days when you would visit the Scholastic Book Fair? Those days have returned and at such a bargain! The Library Media Center is hosting a books-only BUY ONE GET ONE FREE Scholastic Book Fair on Monday through Friday and there are a lot of titles that you would like such as Maze Runner, Matched, the Cinder series, a lot of World War 2 fiction and non-fiction, and some graphic novels.  Incoming sophomores can also purchase one of the books from the summer reading list. At BUY ONE GET ONE FREE, it's a bargain that you can't pass up.  Visit during lunch periods in rooms A and B.

From the library, all books are due to the library media center NOW. Bring them to the library immediately. Right now. Not later today or tomorrow!

Inspir3ed by the documentary, Girl Rising, Ms. Delaney's Women's Studies, Media, and Literature class created community art pieces that are displayed around the school. These art pieces visualize statistics dealing with the issue of the denial and the lack of girls' education worldwide and seek to help spread awareness. Today's statistics are: early child marriage is a problem for girls around the world. Worldwide, the number one cause of death for girls ages 15-19 is childbirth. If all mothers completed primary education, maternal deaths would be reduced by 2/3s, saving 98,000 lives. This art piece can be seen by the cafeteria and was created by Layla Fetters, Shane Brouman, and Erica Pesa.

Last night, the Blue Streak softball team won their sectional tournament game against McKinley.  Morgan Hadinger picked up her 10th win of the season, and Emma McNamara finished the game for a save.  Macy Cook hammered a homerun, with Mackenzie Mauller, Taylor Perko, and McNamara also picking up 2 base hits apiece.  The Streaks travel to Jackson to take on the Polar Bears tonight.  Game time is at 4:30.

We have another employer that is looking for summer help.  Clearwater Park is seeking individuals that enjoy people and excel at customer service.  Positions start at $8.10 per hour, 30-40 hours per week, availability on weekends and holidays is a must.  See the flyer posted across from the guidance office in the showcase for contact information.

The Varsity Baseball Team captured the sectional Championship last night by defeating North Canton 4-2. The win puts the boys in the districts next week at Munson Stadium. Adam Dadich threw a complete game for your Streaks to pick up his 5th victory of the season. The team was anchored by outstanding infield play by Tyler Nelson, Damian Maglione, Shawn Baker, and Daniel Wharton. Dalton Davis had another strong performance at the catcher's position. Damian Maglione had two hits, Daniel Wharton ripped a double. Adam Dadich, Dalton Davis and Shawn Baker all had an RBI for your boys.

We have a public service announcement! This Friday come out to the sour patch kid's event during your lunch period. You can receive an abundance of FREE spectacular items. Also the chance to win a mystery prize.

The Gay-Straight Alliance will have their last meeting of the year this Wednesday from 2:45-3:30 in the art room. Come for pizza, games, and awesome friends. All are welcome, we hope to see you there.

The Varsity Baseball Team beat Green last night to open tournament play. Tyler Nelson threw a complete game shutout VS the Bulldogs in a 1-0 victory. The boys pitched a 6th shutout for the season which is a new school record for a season. The team played great defense to blank the Dogs. Tyler Nelson had the games only RBI with a bases loaded walk. Come out tonight as the Streaks host Hoover for the Sectional Championship. The game begins at 4:30.

Lake's Chess Team brought home a second place team trophy this weekend. Alex Clevinger, Jack Bullock, Adam Brott, Noah Lamadanie and Colin Smith all helped. In addition Noah and Adam both won individual trophies.

Attention all girls planning on playing High School soccer this coming fall.  There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, May 11th after school in the High School cafeteria.  If you can't attend, please stop down to the Middle School and talk with Coach Sears.

Attention Ms.Delaney's past and present Women's Studies students. Ms. Delaney will be holding a reunion in her room, room 207, on Thursday May 14th 4A and B for any former or current Women's Studies students. If you're available during this period, stop in, grab some snacks, and say hello!

Inspired by the documentary, Girl Rising, Ms. Delaney's Women's Studies, Media, and Literature class created community art pieces that are displayed around the school. These art pieces visualize statistics dealing with the issue of the denial and the lack of girls' education worldwide and seek to help spread awareness. Today's statistic is: Two - thirds of the 774 million illiterate people in the world are female. This art piece can be seen to the right of Ms. Delaney's room and was created by Samantha Underwood, Damian Maglione, and Katherine McCauley.

The boys and girls track teams did well Friday at Lake's own Rock' em Relays. The girls placed third out of 7 teams. Scoring first places for the girls were Andrea Dixon, Anna Schafer, Sam Minor, Alex Dutton, Landry Carneal, Alexis Meffert, Victoria Clelland, Deseree Clauss, and Brandie Snow. Also scoring points for the girls were Hannah Schulz, Rachel Spicer, Amber Ash, Jessica Hart, Lizzie Romigh, Ashley Onabiyi, Amanda Piekarz, Isabella Corsi, Brittany Baroni, Toni Clauss, Abbey Zaluski, Julia Smyers, Kaylee Jones, Shelby Shidel, and Lauren Windham. The Gay-Straight Alliance will have their last meeting of the year this Wednesday from 2:45-3:30 in the art room. Come for pizza, games, and awesome friends. All are welcome, we hope to see you there!
