LAKE HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY TRACK & FIELD COACHES
Mission Statement: To provide an environment through athletics to achieve success.
Goals and Objectives:
  1. Improve the skill level of the athletes.
  2. Improve the physical fitness level of the athletes.
  3. Help each athlete develop an appreciation for the sport.
  4. Demand the athletes learn and abide by the rules of the game.
  5. Insist the athletes practice good sportsmanship.
  6. Encourage the development of patience, cooperation, and teamwork.
  7. Develop mental toughness for competition in the athletes.
  8. Encourage athletes to enjoy and have fun playing the sport.

Head Coach: Matt Pinion / sprint, relay events
            Coach Pinion is a graduate of Green High School, where he participated in football, basketball, and track and field, earning league awards in football and track. He is a graduate of the University of Akron, completing a master’s degree from Marygrove University. Coach Pinion has over 20 years of coaching experience in a variety of sports at the high school and middle school levels. He has previously coached varsity football and track and field, where he is certified as a level 1 track coach by the USATF. Mr. Pinion is also a certified PVSCB coach, and member of the OATCCC. Mr. Pinion is a health teacher at Lake Middle School. He is a resident of Lake and married to Jennifer, with 3 sons Connor, Brennon, and Owen.
Asst. Coach: Rich Casenhiser / distance events
            Coach Casenhiser is a graduate of Hoban High School where he participated in track, cross country, basketball, and golf, earning county honors in track and cross country. He ran track and cross-country at Walsh University, graduated from Kent State University, and completed his master’s degree at the University of Akron. Coach Casenhiser brings his coaching experience to the varsity track team, along with the middle school cross-country teams. Mr. Casenhiser is a graphic arts teacher at Lake High School. He and his wife Kari, children Alexis, Zion, and Chance reside in Lake.
Asst. Coach: Scott Cassidy  / jump events
            Coach Cassidy is a graduate of Minerva High School where he participated in cross-country, basketball, and baseball, earning all league honors in basketball. He played basketball, and graduated from Muskingum College, completing his master’s degree from Ashland University. Coach Cassidy has experience coaching a variety of sports, including boys Junior Varsity basketball. Coach Cassidy specializes in the jump events where he has experience at the middle school and varsity levels. Mr. Cassidy is a science teacher at the middle school. He and his wife Kim live in Louisville, with their daughter Jenna and son Ryan.
Asst. Coach: Jami Donahue / throw events
            Coach Donahue is a graduate of Edgewood High School where she excelled in track and field, volleyball, and basketball earning league honors. She still holds her high school discus record and participated in track and field for Goshen College setting the school record in the hammer event. Jami graduated from Malone University, where she was a grad assistant volleyball coach and finished her master’s degree. Coach Donahue has a number of years coaching experience at the middle school, high school and college levels. Mrs. Donahue is physical education teacher at Lake Middle School.  She and her husband Dave reside in North Canton.
Asst. Coach: Jeff Durbin / throw events
            Coach Durbin is a graduate of Danville High School where he participated in track and field, football, basketball and baseball, earning league honors in football. Coach Durbin is a graduate of the College of Wooster, where he was a team captain on the football team. He finished a master’s degree at the University of Akron, where he was an assistant coach, before becoming the head football coach at Lake. Coach Durbin brings extensive coaching experience to the track and field program. He has experience coaching throws at the middle and high school levels. Mr. Durbin is the Principal at Lake Middle School. He lives in Lake with his wife Theresa, and they have three children Luke, Ted and Diane.
Asst. Coach Tom Kohli / throw events
            Coach Kohli is a graduate of Kenton Ridge High School where he participated in track and field and football, earning all league honors in football. Coach Kohli is a college graduate of Wittenberg University, and earned his master’s degree at Ashland University. Coach Kohli will bring his coaching experience to the varsity team shot and disc events. Coach Kohli is also a varsity assistant coach for the football team. Mr. Kohli is an English teacher at Lake High School. He and his wife Michelle reside in Canal Fulton, with their 2 children Ryan and Courtney.
Asst. Coach: Katie Marko / sprint, relay, and hurdle events
            Coach Marko is a graduate of Jackson High School where she excelled in track and field, and basketball, earning first team all Federal League honors in both sports. Katie also was an Ohio State qualifier in the 100m dash. She is a graduate and has a master’s degree from the University of Akron. Coach Marko has been coaching track and field for a number of years both at the middle school and high school levels. Mrs. Marko is a math teacher at Lake Middle School. She and her husband Ben reside in Lake.

            Coach Milhoan is a graduate of Springfield High School where he participated in track and field, cross country, and football, earning league honors in track and cross country. Coach Milhoan is a graduate of the University of Akron where he ran track for four years, and also participated in decathlon events. He has a vast experience in the sport of track and field, both as a certified official and certified PVSCB coach. Coach Milhoan is a certified lives in Lake with his wife Evelyn, they have three children, Nathaniel, Rachel, and Jared.
 
LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD COACHES
Head Coach: Adam Booth / sprints, relays, pole vault
            Coach Booth is a National Honor Society graduate of Lake High School where he participated in football and baseball earning league honors in football. Adam graduated college from Grove City, excelling in both football and baseball earning all league honors in baseball. Coach Booth earned his master’s degree from Marygrove University.  Coach Booth brings his coaching experience to the LMS track & field team specializing in sprints, relays, and pole vault, where he is PVSCB certified. Mr. Booth is a math teacher at Lake Middle School. He, his wife Kelly, and three sons Sam, Will and Julian reside in Lake.
Asst. Coach: Ashli Breit  / sprints, relays, hurdle events
            Coach Breit is a Graduate of Marlington High School, and Baldwin Wallace College. Ashli is coaching the sprint, relay and hurdle events. Mrs. Breit is a sixth grade math teacher at Lake Middle School. She lives in Lake with her husband Jeff and their son Jackson.
Asst. Coach: Mark Kell / distance and jump events
            Coach Kell is a graduate of Hoover High School where he participated in baseball. Mark attended Hocking College and graduated from the University of Akron. He is coaching the distance and jumping events and is certified by the PVSCB. Mr. Kell is a science teacher at Lake Middle School. He and his wife Laura reside in North Canton.
Asst. Coach: Ken Wolfe / throw events
            Coach Wolfe is a graduate of Kenmore High School where he participated in soccer earning all league and district player honors. Ken is a college graduate of the University of Akron, and earned his masters from Kent State University. He has middle school and high school coaching experience, and is specializing with the throwing events. Mr. Wolfe is a biology teacher at Lake High School. He resides in Lake with his wife Shannon and children Carson and Carissa.
