Coach Jeff Durbin enters his twentieth year as head coach for the Lake Blue Streaks. Durbin is a 1970 graduate of Danville High School and a 1974 graduate of The College of Wooster. He earned his Master’s degree from The University of Akron in 1980. Coach Durbin started his career with a five-year coaching stint in the Plain Local system followed by a seven-year assignment under Jim Dennison at The University of Akron. He served as defensive coordinator at Lake for four years before assuming the head coaching position in 1990.

During his 19-year tenure as head coach Lake has played in the state championship three times, been regional champ four times, and been Federal League champions four times. The Blue Streaks have been to the playoffs 13 times under Durbin including appearances in 2006 and 2007 and a regional final appearance in 2004.

The primary goals again for the Blue Streaks in 2009 are to win the Federal League championship, qualify for the playoffs, and to win the state championship.

Coach Durbin and his wife Teresa have three children: Luke (25) who teaches at Massilon HS and coaches the defensive line for the Streaks, Ted (22) a senior chemistry education major at Baldwin Wallace College, and Diane (21) a senior nursing major at Capital University. Mr. Durbin also served as principal at Lake Middle School.
