Mike Parker, Varsity Head Coach
   Coach Parker enters his 6th season as head coach for the Blue Streaks. Coach Parker was head coach at Akron Springfield for 11 seasons , capturing the NBC crown twice and named coach of the year two times as well. Last season the Blue Streaks finished in second place in the Federal League and the team tied for second most in school history for win total in a season with 21.This year's team has a strong nucleus returning and will have their sites set on a Federal League Title. Coach Parker is also a member of the Lake Football Staff where he coaches the running backs and coordinates the special teams.
   Coach Parker is a 1983 graduate of Woodridge High School where he earned 10 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He went on to get his BA from the University of Akron and his masters degree from The United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. 
   Coach Parker lives in the community with his wife Kathy, four daughters Dena, Amanda, Ava and Olivia and his four dogs Rocko, Ricco, Wheezi and Lucy Lu. 
 
John Rutan, Varsity Assistant
Coach Rutan is entering his second year as a varsity assistant.  He spent the last four seasons coaching JV for the Streaks.  Coach Rutan is in his third forth year at Lake Middle School where he teaches 8th grade math. In the Fall, Coach Rutan was a member of the Varsity Football Staff.
   Coach Rutan is a 2005  graduate of Lake High School and is proud to be back working at his alma mater. While in high school, he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Coach Rutan received all league and all state honors in football and baseball. After high school he went on to Walsh University where he played football for four years and he earned his BA degree in education. He and his Fiance, Amanda, live in the community.

 

Zack McCoy, , Varsity Assistant

Louisville, Ohio resident Zack McCoy was added as a member of the Lake baseball coaching staff this season. This spring, McCoy will be the varsity pitching coach.
McCoy attended Louisville High School where he competed for the Leopards in varsity baseball, golf and football. He previously spent time as Louisville’s JV baseball coach and also as an assistant boy’s golf coach. Most recently, Zack has spent time as the varsity girl’s golf coach at Louisville, Freshman boys’ basketball coach at St. Thomas Aquinas and Malone University assistant baseball coach. 

In all, Zack has compiled 27 seasons worth of coaching in baseball, basketball and golf. He recently completed his education at Kent State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education. With his degree, McCoy has landed at Lake High School as the Junior and Senior Economics teacher.
 

 

 Joe Anderson, JV Head Coach

Coach Anderson comes to us from Green were he coached football and baseball. Coach also has experience in Florida as a head baseball coach. He is married with two children.

 Nathan Klein, Freshman Coach

Coach Klein is in his Fifth year teaching and coaching in Lake, he is teaching at Hartville Elementary. This is his third year as Head Coach for the Freshman Team, last year he was the JV assistant. Coach Klein is a 2004 graduate of Ellet High School where he earned 9 varsity letters in baseball, football and basketball. He earned All-City honors in baseball and football and was also a two sport captain for the Orangeman.
​ Coach Klein went on to The University of Akron to earn his BA in early childhood education , graduating with honors. He is also currently attending Akron U, working on his MA in elementary education. He brings with him valuable ​experience in coaching with 8 years of youth baseball under his belt and has also worked on the staff at Ellet High School.
 
Jared Ewing, , Freshman Assistant
 
Coach Ewing enters his first year on staff. He played baseball for Ellet were he was friends and a teammate with Coach Klein.
